The average American wedding costs more than $33,000, according to data from wedding website The Knot. With the price tag of a dress, ceremony, and reception close to the cost of a new car, it’s no wonder that many couples are looking to save any way they can. And now, TLC is helping a few brides and grooms get married for less – a lot less.

The network is giving 52 lucky couples a free wedding. The no-cost nuptials will be filmed for a new 10-part series, Say Yes to the Dress America, which will air in January 2020. But there’s a catch. You won’t be the only people getting hitched.

What we know so far about Say Yes to the Dress America

Say Yes to the DressAmerica is a spin-off of TLC’s wildly popular show Say Yes to the Dress. Producers will choose one bride from eachstate (plus Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico) to appear in the series.

Saved By The Dress

Each bride will receive an all-expenses paid trip to NewYork City sometime this summer, where she’ll enjoy a private shopping event atKleinfeld Bridal, the bridal boutique featured on SYTTD. Kleinfeld consultants will help each bride select herperfect (and free!) wedding dress from a curated collection.

After choosing their dress, brides will attend a pre-wedding reception hosted by TLC. Then, each bride and her partner will get married in a group wedding officiated by Randy Fenoli of Say Yes to the Dress. The big event will take place at an “iconic” location in NYC, according to TLC.

“When viewers need their bridal fix, they turn to Say Yes to the Dress,” said Howard Lee, president and general manager for TLC, in a statement. “We are beyond excited to expand this beloved franchise and give superfans across the country the chance to be a part of the biggest and most buzzworthy wedding event of the year.”

How to get a free wedding from Say Yes to the Dress

If the idea of getting married with dozens of complete strangers sounds like fun to you, you can apply to be part of Say Yes to the Dress America. Producers are currently on the hunt “for brides who represent each of their states unique traits.”

To be considered, you need to record a video no longer than 3 minutes that showcases your creativity, personality, and state pride. Producers suggest you show how you stand out from others in your state, and also explain how you would demonstrate your state pride in NYC and why you want to get married with the rest of America.

You’ll also need to fill out an application explaining whatkind of wedding dress you want, why you think you should be on TV, and why youwant SYTTD’s Fenoli to marry you.You’ll also need to answer several questions about your state pride, includinghow you’d incorporate your state pride into your final wedding day look.
